Diagnosis and management of a remnant of the original fistula (ROOF) in males following surgery for anorectal malformations

Retrospective study of 16 male patients with retained remnant of original fistula (ROOF) following anorectal malformation repair. MRI and cystoscopy together provide optimal diagnostic accuracy; surgical excision via PSARP approach improved urinary symptoms in all cases and addresses theoretical malignancy risk.
